The Aphasia Support Group is for people who are suffering from aphasia and speech difficulties as the result of a stroke. The group is being sponsored by the Perry County Literacy Council and meets monthly on Mondays at the Community Education Center, 232 Market St. Newport.

The group is for people suffering from aphasia and their spouses or caregivers. The meetings are led by two volunteer speech therapists from the community. The goals of the group are to improve verbal skills, provide group support, give updated information on aphasia and technology, and provide socialization for the members.
